This week’s Top 3 Tracks
So this week before Tramlines hits Sheffield I decided that my Top 3 would come from the festival’s lineup.
Some of the songs I’ve loved for a while now but you may not have heard them before. All Sheffield musicians again…
Let me know what you think of my choices and send some recommendations my way!
Here’s this week TOP 3…
1. The Crookes – ‘Afterglow’
The debut single ‘Afterglow’ is from the Sheffield pop band’s second album ‘Hold Fast’. This song is very infectious and achieves everything a great pop song should. I love it and hope you will too.
Despite touring all over the UK and Europe the boys still found the time to write and put their latest album together. Incredible.
The Crookes are playing a couple of times at this weekend’s Tramlines festival so make sure you go to see them.
2. Smiling Ivy – ‘Bombscare’
The second track in the Top 3 this week is by another Sheffield band called Smiling Ivy. I really like this song and it’s very upbeat and dancey. It’ll be a great one that will get everyone into the festival spirit this weekend at Tramlines.
The band are making reggae, ska music that I haven’t heard anywhere else in Sheffield. It’s great. Get listening.
3. Arkham Karvers – ‘Circles’
The third and final track for this week’s Top 3 tracks is from Arkham Karvers. A favourite of mine who are currently working with Jon Windle’s record label Tiny Teeth. They’re harmonies are fantastic and they blend reggae and indie beats together very nicely indeed. This one’s called ‘Circles’. They’re also, as you may have guessed it, playing at Tramlines this weekend. Definitely a band to go and see.
